it’s a Baby Dane Baby Shower

I cant believe how fast little Mrs. Abbie Jensen’s baby shower came, it seems like just yesterday she was telling me she was prego with that little video of the heartbeat! Can’t believe it’s just 5 short weeks until we get to meet this little guy! Today we celebrated his arrival with a little prenatal yoga shower for momma and baby. Since we started the afternoon off with yoga we wanted to keep lunch light so we opted for a menu of tea sandwiches, smoothies, and desserts of course! This is my moms famous (I call it famous because its the only chicken salad ill eat) Cashew Chicken Salad sandwiches. Abbie and I always joke that I only like cute food. Which is true I would sacrifice taste over cute any day! So thank God my mother is an amazing cook and always pulls through with making sure everything tastes amazing! I love that lady! Being prego myself I have been craving BLTs and tomatoes like whoa, and lets be honest who doesn’t love a great BLT?! Having to make these in advance we were a little worried about the whole toast not getting soggy thing. That’s when Ma broke out the brilliant idea for these BLT poppers! They were banging, just like a BLT, minus those pesky toast calories, and for an added bonus…they’re cute! Lastly we had a more traditional tea sandwich with cucumber, carrots, mint, and ginger. These offered a lighter option which is always nice! It was so fun to see all of these lovely ladies and catch up. It’s funny how much harder it gets to make time to get together as we get older but days like these make you remember why we all became friends to start with! Lets not forget dessert!! Not being any sort of baker I’ve finally figured it out…get it catered! Done and done!! I could not of asked for better desserts! Hilary over at Rue de Lis Desserts did an amazing job! Not only did everything look great but they tasted amazing! Thankfully everything got eaten or I would officially put this baby in a sugar comma! I love these 2 ladies and was so glad we were able to celebrate little Dane! Overall it was a great afternoon filled some amazing women. Thank you to everyone for coming and a HUGE thanks to Andrea and my mom for all of their help, ideas, talents and laughs while we pulled this day together! P.S. I can’t believe I don’t have a yoga picture of us all! Who forgets to take that at a yoga shower?! At least I got these cute water bottles that Mrs. Andrea created for our yoga...

Date Night with Mussels

Date Night with Mussels

E and I have a long standing tradition of skipping dinner dates and opting for wine and app dates. It one of my favorite things that we do. There is something about sharing small plates that creates conversation and lets you enjoy each other rather than focusing on finishing the dinner in front of you. Market Street Oyster Bar is one of our favorite places to do this. With a great wine selection and mussels and clams on the menu, how can you go wrong?! It’s a good thing my husband is form Maine and might possibly love seafood more than I do, which makes it easy as this is one of my all time favorite...

Wishing You…

Wishing You…

A Christmas filled with family, love, warm fires, and lots of laughs. This year E and I spent Christmas at te Scrafford household and I have to admit we both loved every minute of it. I mean it’s no surprise that I loved it as I do love hanging out with the fam but I feel so beyond lucky that my husband enjoys it just as much! Per usual Christmas came early this year due to Park’s crazy schedule and the rents (understandably) wanting to get out to Steamboat for the holidays. We celebrated Christmas Eve on Friday ad Christmas Day on Saturday which meant the whole family could be there! It felt just like Christmas (minus midnight mass) and it just goes to show that it’s the company your surrounded by that makes the holidays truly special. I hope everyone had as merry of a Christmas as our lill fam...

Vote Because You Can

I don’t know what it is about election day but there is something about walking into your voting location and exercising your right to vote that feels amazing! As a young working women I take my right to vote seriously, many women before us fought hard for our voices to be heard and I believe it’s our duty as the women of America, no matter who you vote for, that we get out and vote! Vote. Get a sticker. Join the club. You owe it to yourself and your...

It’s a Family Thing

It’s a Family Thing

Finally getting around to posting about one of my favorite places on earth, Lake George, NY. I love this place and although the noise has quitted and the coming and going of friends and family has slowed since the passing of my grandpa and the growing older of my amazing grandma, this place will always hold a special kind of magic for me. As a kid we spent the summer packed into my grandparents 2 bedroom house, with every couch, foldout bed, and cozy spot on the floor filled each night. I learned about my relatives through stories and laughter as we gathered round the tiny kitchen table, and as the stories were told the room grew more and more crowded with the dropping in of old friends, and the passing by of relatives. We spent our days at the lake, walking home to eat lunch, and then back to the beach before “cocktails”and yes, this is where I learned what a “cocktail” was and that no they did NOT taste like apple juice! In short I got to be a kid all summer long, and for a few months of the year I was able to be part of this huge beautiful family that was filled with so much life and love even though we lived a million miles away. So this summer Ma and I left a week before the rest of the family so we could soak up all my favorite Lake George gems! Here’s a little glimpse into our trip… First stop: Christy’s Soft Serve ice cream, 50/50 twist with chocolate jimmy’s on top…what I wouldn’t do for one of those right this second! Next up, morning runs through the back roads of the Village, up the brutal Gage Hill, and finally onto the bike path! How can you not love pounding the payment here?! It’s the best, I could run for days. Scratch lotto tickets…no brainer, I’ll take 10! Corn Toasties, perfectly scored with butter. If you haven’t had one you won’t know until you know! Arcades and ski-ball, meant hording my tickets all summer for whoopy-cushions and Chinese finger traps of course. I have to admit though my mother does kick everyone’s ass in ski-ball…it’s that inner bowling nerd in her! This crazy ass jade plant was a tiny little plant that use to sit on the front porch when I was a kid. I have the pictures to prove it!  The sentimental sucker inside me took some clippings and packed them in my bag when I left. I can happily report they are still alive and thriving right next to the jade plants from our wedding. There is something about having a piece of that plant that has seen it all in that little yellow house on Ottowa street that I love! It wouldn’t be a Lake George trip without Thursday night fireworks! There happened to be a thunderstorm rolling in when we were there which made for some pretty rad images per the lake. Dinner at Nancy and George’s, filled with life lessons, amazing food, lots of laughs, and an incredible view! Then it was off to the reunion! My favorite part of the trip, if I have mentioned I’m obsessed with family, I love the stories, I love the hugs, I...

This face…

Seriously how can you not love this face?! I’m 100% convinced that I could send the entire day squeezing it! Me and this little guy, we made a deal, he’s living to be 100 (and yes that is human years) end of story! And yes, I post a lot of picture of my dog, I know and accept this about myself, if you don’t like it stop reading my...

Vermont Wedding Weekend Roundup

Finally getting around to posting pictures from John & Sommer’s amazing wedding in Vermont. E and I had such a great time from walking around Burlington, to wiffle ball tournaments, drinking, dancing, and some serious good times with a great group of people! Here are just a few of my favorites from the trip: Party on the beach, don’t mind if we do! Chi & Chelsea doin what they do If this barn could tell stories there would be some serious stories to tell! Keeping it classy, and possibly the only 2 people at the wedding not rocking Oakley’s…ain’t no party like an Oakley party! If this barn could talk there would be some serious storytelling filled with inside out dresses, amazing dance moves, beats worth talking about, and a mud dive or two! A tornado warning followed by a rainbow, I’m not sure how much more luck a couple could ask for on their wedding day. If you ask me it was meant to be! Chelsea just being Chelsea! Lots of love to John and Sommer and a huge thanks for letting us be a part of such an amazing weekend of great friends, food, music, laughs, and...

Vermont Vaca

If I haven’t mentioned it the red-eye is my least favorite way to travel but as my luck goes E LOVES them & swears by them being the only and best flight to take. I on the other hand need anything I can get just to make it to our destination without being a zombie! One more flight to go! At least there’s...
